Food Photography – New York City

I was so happy to be shooting more food for Il Mulino in November. This time it was at their 60th Street location in Manhattan. Aside from the fact that Drake raps about the joint in his song “Poundcake” with Jay-Z, Il Mulino serves up some great Italian food. And yes I do get to enjoy a bit of it while I work, however, most cases the food is zipping by. You only have so much time to photograph hot food before its NOT ready for its close up. Keep an eye on our next post as I want to share the photos I captured in the street once we were wrapped. No food, but some fun New York street scenes. For now, feast your eyes!

Thanksgiving Noreaster

Pissing rain, cooling temps and some warbles. There was a few epic waves in between. Below, Jon Smyth’s ride, a standout. Weather is fun to document no matter how you look at it; riding waves or shooting landscapes. This was my approach.

The Wake of the Storm – Eastern Surf Magazine

Just days after the boardwalk fire left Fun Town Pier in ashes, I met with Gail Coleman to photograph an article for Eastern Surf Magazine. Last year, Seaside Park made global news during Hurricane Sandy and again this fall when the fire ripped through the boardwalk. Seaside Park and it’s shore going community are definitely in our hearts here in Jersey.

San Francisco Streets

I was recently in California with my camera glued to my palm. My travels included San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Big Sur. Northern California was a real treat to visit as I was greeted with perfect weather and gorgeous natural lighting. I had a blast shooting some surf while in town and also had a peek around the area.
