Mexico: All Inclusive
This Mexico is not the party scene of Cancun or the tourist laden ruins. In this Mexico, you can disappear and being swallowed into the heart of a giant wave is the preferred method of going missing. Whispers of kidnappings speak just loud enough that make one unsure if the palm trees’ gentle rustle is created by wind… or worry.

A Study of Light and Water
New Jersey summer offers the possibility of pumping hurricane surf or flat spells lasting weeks. So if you are (not) shooting, try looking for new subjects, waves and different angles. If you are (not) surfing than try some yoga in between the summer swells. Or dare I say… a stand up paddle session! As always, my preference is sunset or sunrise. During this time light and liquid play off each other quite magically. My quest this summer is to shoot a perfect small wave with the colors you see below. What are you pursuing?
The Surfer’s Journal: New Jersey Article
The current issue of The Surfer’s Journal (20.3 June-July 2011) is featuring an article by New Jersey’s Jon Coen titled Last Chance Power Drive: A New Jersey Surf Primer. The article is very well written and gives readers some depth into Jersey’s own surf history. Along with Coen’s words are a beautiful selection of photos that pulse the Garden State’s energy between the bi-monthy publication’s pages. Please stop by your local surf shop or any book store such as Barnes and Noble or Borders and buy yourself a copy. This is huge for New Jersey!
Generation Thirteen Tee’s at the Skim Bash 2011 in Sea Bright
The video below shows Dave Sincox of Aluminum Human and Generation Thirteen cranking out a new design. Though not there for the entire process, I thought it would be fun to show a bit of what Dave does and the finished product. I’m excited to have contributed a photo to inspire the design of the shirt. If you want to purchase one, your best bet would be to cruise on by the SkimBash 2011 this weekend and copp one. Other great designs from Generation Thirteen with be on sale, including ladies apparel!
The 8th Annual SkimBash Contest takes place this weekend June 25 & 26 in Sea Bright New Jersey. This is the premier pro/am skimboarding contest on the Jersey Shore with big cash prizes for winners. For more info on the contest check out their website: http://skimbash.com/
