Get Your Shit Together

From a photographic stand point, this swell sucked. I am interested in seeing what everyone else came up with from Jersey. To surf it was probably mind blowing. Mind erasing I should say. The water was cold and there were a lot of closeouts, that means wipeouts and ice cream headaches for everyone. The lighting turned on for a short window then went gloomy and dark, taking all enthusiasm with it. I only want to shoot line ups lately anyway so, really, it worked out well. We all would like to see some action and/or water “shots” but this swell just didn’t get it’s shit together.

About Ryan Struck

I am a 30 year old, self-taught Brooklyn based photographer. Earning a BA in History allowed me to investigate the things that have occurred in the world of which I knew nothing about. In that same spirit, photography allows me to be curious about the world and what surrounds us. I enjoy saving poignant moments through a visual medium, documenting lifestyle often fulfills this need quite nicely. I love what I do. When not at home shooting I can be found traveling in search of surf and inspiring natural lighting. My desire to capture images that help viewers imagine the instant the shutter clicked fuels my passion to combine beautiful light, people and places.
